Subject: Swearing-In of Shri K. Sanjay Murthy as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India
At a solemn ceremony held today, November 21, 2024, at 1000 hrs, in the Ganatantra Mandap, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Shri K. Sanjay Murthy was sworn in as the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
Shri Murthy made and subscribed to the oath of office before the Hon’ble President of India, marking the commencement of his tenure in this prestigious constitutional position. The event was attended by senior government officials and dignitaries.
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India is responsible for auditing the accounts of the Union and State Governments, ensuring fiscal discipline and accountability, and advising the government on financial matters. Shri Murthy’s appointment is a significant milestone in strengthening the financial oversight of the government.
